Nichola (Nicki) Ward was born in London and lives in Toronto, Canada where she is an award winning writer, performer and poet. Her work embraces the energy of "spoken word" and the formality of "page poetry".

She is the founder of the publishing and performance group Ground Queero and a long term member of the respected LGBT writer's group "OUTwrites".

She is the author of "Little Sarah - Wordkeeper", "Babylon Alley - A Play for Voices", the anthology "Found Album" and "Jackie's not a Real Girl".

Some recent awards include: 2010 Ontario Arts Council - "Theatre Creators Reserve" 2010 Ontario Arts Council - "Word of Mouth" 2010 Featured in the Literary Review of Canada,  2011 Ontario Arts Council - "Theatre Creators Reserve",  2011 OAC - "Word of Mouth", 2011 OAC Work In Progress.
